Ukraine's stark world-image gets brought into sharp focus with this sampler to Sunchase's debut album on Drone Audio. Proving that minimal drum & bass doesn’t have to be dull as dishwater, Sunchase gives us all a beautiful taste of ‘Static Nitro’ that’s been getting dancefloors and iPods excited in equal measure.
Combining sparse beat patterns with beautifully embellished sonic stipples of synthetic and sampled sound effects, ‘Moulded’ proves to be the very definition of minimal bliss. Razor-sharp production is the hinge on which this track swings its way through your aural landscape.
Embracing similarly threadbare beat patterns, ‘Breakpoint’ is built around esoteric wobbles of sci-fi influence and carefully constructed atmospheres. Gradually building synth lines float in and out as creeping FX and grizzled bass intensifies the track to perfection.
